## Description

Am Oved is one of Israel’s oldest, largest, and most influential publishing houses. Founded in 1942, it has become a familiar presence on Israeli bookshelves, publishing works for readers of all ages and interests. Its catalogue spans fiction, children’s and young adult books, classics, mysteries, science fiction and fantasy, psychology, Jewish studies, history, Holocaust and World War II, poetry, and practical and leisure titles. The publisher also offers collections, literary series, discounted books, gift books, and the journal Alpayim.

Am Oved’s list brings together Israeli and international authors, established classics, award-winning creators, and new voices. Recent titles range from picture books and lyrical stories for children to contemporary novels, historical fiction, thrillers, horror, poetry, and accessible works of history and philosophy. The house also highlights books by and about Nobel Prize winners, recommended reading, and selections for different ages and interests. Through its broad and varied publishing programme, Am Oved offers readers both enduring favourites, including The Little Prince and The Story of Mitz Petel, and new discoveries.
