## Description

AMAS Porto da Carne is a private social solidarity institution established in 1995 in Porto da Carne, in Portugal’s Guarda district. The Association for Improvement and Social Support of Porto da Carne develops social care services and projects to support the wellbeing and development of local communities, with a particular focus on older people. Its facilities include gardens, leisure areas and a vegetable garden.

AMAS offers three main services. Its residential care home provides older residents with accommodation, meals tailored to their health and nutritional needs, laundry, medical and nursing care, physiotherapy, social and recreational activities, and access to specialist consultations and personal care services. The Day Centre supports older people while helping them remain in their family and community environment. Services can include meals, transport, personal care, healthcare, laundry and social activities. The Home Support Service delivers tailored assistance to people who need help with daily living, including meals, personal and household hygiene, laundry, appointments and practical errands.
