## Description

Amber Peterman is a multi-country impact evaluation specialist whose research examines gender, development, poverty, social norms, and violence against women and children in resource-poor settings. She is affiliated with the Evaluation Office of UNICEF in Nairobi and the Transfer Project at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, co-leads the Cash Transfer and Intimate Partner Violence Research Collaborative hosted by IFPRI, and is a non-resident fellow at the Center for Global Development. Her work provides methodological and policy-relevant evidence on how economic and behavior-change programs may reduce risks, and how improved measurement can better capture agency, violence, and harmful practices. Peterman has collected large-scale data in more than a dozen countries and published over 80 journal articles and book chapters.
