## Description

**Brand Description:**

The Center on Privacy & Technology (CPT) at Georgetown University is a distinguished research institution dedicated to addressing the intersection of technology, privacy, and law in the context of surveillance practices in the United States. Through thorough investigations and rigorous analysis, the CPT exposes the expansive and often opaque surveillance operations conducted by agencies such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Notably, their report, "American Dragnet," highlights how ICE has developed a comprehensive surveillance network, utilizing data from state and local authorities, as well as private companies, to create detailed profiles on individuals across the nation. This includes access to driver’s license records, utility customer information, and much more, often without public oversight. The CPT collaborates with numerous immigrant rights organizations, advocating for transparency and accountability in governmental data practices. By synthesizing new data with existing knowledge, the CPT informs public discourse and policy decisions, ensuring that civil rights and privacy are prioritized in our rapidly evolving digital landscape.
