## Description

Action Mental Health (AMH) is a brand that actively promotes mental health and well-being in Northern Ireland. Established in 1963 as the Industrial Therapy Organisation, it has grown from its humble beginnings in Downpatrick to become a leading organization in Northern Ireland's Third Sector, challenging the stigma surrounding mental illness. AMH offers a comprehensive range of services, including their flagship program, the New Horizons services. These services are located across Northern Ireland and provide personal development, vocational skills, and employability training options for individuals. They also offer a variety of resilience-building techniques for school children, young people, and those in further and higher education. In addition to these services, AMH provides therapeutic counseling for children, young people, adults, and families, including services for the deaf community. They also cater to individuals in work, the unemployed, those with chronic pain or long-term illnesses, those with eating disorders, and individuals with learning disabilities. With the aim of addressing the high prevalence of mental illness in Northern Ireland, AMH's research has shown that investments in programs like New Horizons could contribute significantly to reducing the economic burden of mental health problems. At Action Mental Health, their commitment is to support and empower individuals, fostering mental well-being for all.
