## Description

The American Society of Parasitologists (ASP) is a professional society dedicated to parasitology, bringing together people interested in the study of parasites across scientific, educational, veterinary, and medical fields. Its work spans ecological and systematic parasitology, biochemistry and molecular biology, immunoparasitology, and wildlife, fisheries, agricultural, aquaculture, and veterinary parasitology. The society supports its community through membership, educational resources, expert connections, publications, and information about parasite-related research and services. Members can access society documents, policies, meeting materials, and additional members-only resources. ASP also organizes an annual meeting, with opportunities to propose symposia, submit abstracts, and register. Its awards and programs recognize student presentations, research, mentoring, service, and contributions to the field, while student travel grants help support participation. The website provides links to regional societies, parasite museums, human-parasite medical resources, parasite images, and books of interest. Through these activities, the ASP serves researchers, educators, students, and practitioners seeking to share knowledge and advance the understanding of parasitology.
