AMVETS (American Veterans) is the nation's most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veterans service organization. Established in 1944 and chartered by an act of Congress, AMVETS has been dedicated to enhancing and safeguarding the entitlements for all American veterans who have served honorably. Their mission is to improve the quality of life for veterans, their families, and the communities where they live, through leadership, advocacy, and services.
With over 250,000 members nationwide, AMVETS is veterans serving veterans. Membership is open to all who have honorably served in the United States military, including the Reserve and Guard. AMVETS offers various programs and services such as career centers, assistance in filing VA claims, advocacy, and support for veterans and their families.
