## Description

Anabella Lenzu/DanceDrama is a New York City dance theater company that performs and teaches internationally. Led by choreographer and educator Anabella Lenzu, the company explores the interior logic of performance and the dancer’s place in contemporary culture, drawing on more than 35 years of experience. Its choreography transforms everyday life into dance, examining real experiences, emotions, and personal histories through movement.

DanceDrama offers a broad educational program in person and online, including performances, workshops, masterclasses, weekly online classes, barre à terre, one-on-one instruction, choreographic mentorship, and outreach programs. Its areas of expertise include dance composition, choreography, screen dance, dance history and pedagogy, dance theater, ballet, modern dance, Argentine tango, and Italian folk dance.

The company also shares Anabella’s work through stage repertory, dance films, published articles, and books. Her book, Teaching and Learning Dance Through Meaningful Gestures, considers technique as both philosophy and theory, and the body as an instrument of expression.
