## Description

Ana Cortez is an author and teacher focused on playing-card divination, also known as cartomancy, and creator of The Playing Card Oracles with her father, artist CJ Freeman. Her work explores the 52-card deck as a tool for self-knowledge and prophecy, presenting its suits, numbers, and court cards as a symbolic language. The site introduces card meanings and offers free essays, historical resources, spreads, and beginner instruction.

The brand’s principal publications include The Playing Card Oracles Set, a foundational guide and deck; The Doors of Somlipith Set, which develops more advanced approaches to reading; and Oracle Alchemy, combining Cortez’s personal story with transformational techniques applicable to different decks and methods. Students can also join the Order of the Black Ace, an online membership featuring monthly live sessions and ongoing community discussion.

For in-person learning, Ana hosts monthly Dark Moth gatherings in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with readings, instruction, and conversation. Together, the books, teaching, and gatherings support newcomers and experienced readers in exploring the enduring art of cartomancy.
