## Description

Ancestors and Algorithms is a podcast and learning community that explores how artificial intelligence can support genealogy research. Hosted by Brian, a genealogist and AI enthusiast based in Salt Lake City, Utah, the show offers practical, hands-on guidance for using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity AI, and Google Gemini. Episodes demonstrate real research workflows for investigating family history, analyzing historical documents, interpreting DNA information, and tackling genealogical “brick walls.”

The podcast is free to listen to and is available on platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and Amazon Music. Each episode is paired with a downloadable Companion Guide featuring prompts, workflows, and step-by-step instructions. For more in-depth learning, the Research Lab offers a 15-episode premium masterclass series with audio classes and guides. Members can also access a private community, resources, and live or recorded Q&A sessions, depending on their membership level. Ancestors and Algorithms brings together genealogists of varied experience levels to share discoveries and learn how to use AI as a research assistant while keeping family history research grounded in evidence.
