## Description

ANCI, the Portuguese National Association for Infection Control, is an organisation focused on preventing infections associated with healthcare. Founded in 2007, it aims to improve the quality of healthcare by supporting education, developing resources, establishing standards and promoting professional certification in infection control. Its work also includes encouraging professional meetings and cooperating with official institutions.

ANCI helps members and the wider healthcare community stay informed through news, articles, analysis and regular newsletters covering infection prevention and control. It organises and publicises educational activities such as webinars, conferences and professional events, addressing topics that include hand hygiene, antimicrobial resistance, infection-control practice and related public health issues. The association also shares guidance and information for learning about healthcare-associated infections and their consequences.

Healthcare professionals and organisations can join as individual, corporate or collective members. ANCI provides membership information and application instructions, inviting people and organisations interested in infection prevention to participate in its activities and contribute to better-informed practice and a healthier future.
