## Description

The British Museum is a museum in London with a collection that helps visitors explore cultures and history, including life and death in the ancient Nile Valley. Its learning programme for ages 7–11 (Key Stage 2) connects pupils with ancient Egypt through the Museum’s Egyptian objects and curriculum-linked activities. Schools can book on-site presentations and handling workshops, digital sessions, gallery activities, or live interactive Virtual Visits. Topics include Egyptian mummies, daily life, excavation, mathematics, and multisensory exploration.

The Museum also provides resources for visits, classrooms, and home learning. Gallery activities cover early Egypt, food and clothing, religious beliefs, mummification, the tomb paintings of Nebamun, pharaohs, and ancient Nubia. Student resources include timelines, videos, games, colouring activities, and guides to gods and goddesses, hieroglyphs, funerals, and the afterlife. Teachers can access materials on mummification and the Nebamun tomb paintings, alongside the timeline and other learning resources. Together, these offerings support pupils in investigating ancient Egyptian history through objects, evidence, and interactive learning.
