## Description

ANGEL Portugal is a national nonprofit association founded in 2012 by parents seeking to improve life for people with Angelman syndrome and their families. It provides assistance, information and support to relatives, health professionals, researchers and others interested in this rare genetic condition. The association works to address gaps in knowledge, encourage research in Portugal and internationally, and help families access guidance, care and therapies.

Its initiatives include direct family support, annual national gatherings and virtual meetings held every two months, creating opportunities for information-sharing and education. ANGEL also offers therapeutic grants, a caregiver respite initiative, psychological and social support programs, an assistive-products bank, and the Angelman Unit. Its website provides introductory resources, practical materials, documentation, news and details about events and research. A solidarity shop and membership options give supporters additional ways to engage, while donations help sustain existing programs and develop new projects. Through these services and collaborative networks, ANGEL Portugal promotes inclusion, support and better-informed care for the Angelman syndrome community.
