Angels of Assisi is revolutionizing the role of an animal shelter in order to benefit both pets and the people who love them in the Roanoke VA community. As an independent, nonprofit animal welfare organization serving SW Virginia and West Virginia, Angels of Assisi goes beyond traditional shelter services. In addition to their Adoption Center and Farm Sanctuary, they provide a full range of resources, programs, and services.

This includes a Community Pet Hospital, Rural Veterinary Care, Cruelty Investigations, Disaster Response, and a Safety Net Program for those in need of temporary assistance due to domestic violence or emergencies. Angels of Assisi is also embarking on an ambitious Imagine Capital Campaign to build a state-of-the-art Community Pet Hospital and Adoption Center. With this new facility, they will be able to provide low-cost veterinary care and a premier adoption destination for animals in need of homes.
