## Description

Animal Cancer Trust (ACT) is a registered charity in England and Wales that supports pet owners, veterinary professionals and others caring for animals with cancer. Its aim is to make reliable, independent information easier to find, helping owners understand diagnosis, treatment options, veterinary services and what to expect throughout their pet’s cancer journey. The charity provides educational resources, information sheets, guidance on types of cancer, owner stories and case studies, and support relating to end-of-life care, pet loss and grief. It also helps owners identify oncology services and encourages early, accurate diagnosis and informed decisions focused on pets’ quality of life.

For veterinary professionals, ACT offers the Cancer Alert Practice (CAP) scheme, intended to strengthen support for patients and their owners. The trust promotes ethical research and collaborates with partners to improve understanding and treatment of cancer in animals. Its broader mission is to advance education, research and treatment while sharing trustworthy, up-to-date information and success stories. Pet owners seeking help can contact ACT by phone or email.
