Animal Health and Welfare NI (AHWNI) is a brand dedicated to promoting improved health and welfare for cattle in Northern Ireland. Launched in 2012, AHWNI is an initiative by farmers' organizations and the wider cattle industry to address diseases and conditions that are endemic in Northern Ireland but are not subject to regulation or coordinated control programs. AHWNI provides the knowledge, education, and coordination necessary to establish effective control programs for non-notifiable diseases of livestock.

Their aim is to benefit livestock producers and processors by improving cattle health and welfare. Currently, AHWNI is focusing on eradicating Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD), with eradication programs already underway in the Republic of Ireland and Scotland. They have created a cross-industry BVD Implementation Group to develop a NI Eradication Program, which became compulsory in March 2016.
