## Description

Animò is a collective project behind a multispecies sanctuary in a three-hectare woodland in the province of Pistoia, Italy. The refuge offers a safe home to animals rescued from exploitation, treating them as residents and individuals rather than guests, commodities, or products. Its work challenges the use of animals in contexts such as farming, laboratories, and circuses, and aims to create practical alternatives to violence and confinement. Animò invites people to contribute their time, ideas, voices, and donations to help build the sanctuary and support the lives of its rescued residents. The organisation also welcomes information about animals in exploitative situations where it may be able to intervene. Its online shop sells items including T-shirts, stickers, and illustrations, using designs as a form of political expression; purchases help support the residents’ autonomy. Through “Storie dal Bosco,” Animò shares accounts of sanctuary life, animal liberation, resistance, and relationships between human and nonhuman inhabitants.
