## Description

Aniwayang Studio is an Indonesian animation studio that creates work inspired by the country’s traditional wayang heritage. The studio pioneered aniwayang, a distinctive technique combining the movement of real traditional shadow puppets with digital animation to bring locally rooted stories to screen. Its projects include Desa Timun, a children’s series featuring characters Cila, Cili and Cilo; Ijo dan Emas; and the upcoming Kustinah. Desa Timun has been presented to international audiences, including at Tokyo’s Kineko International Children’s Film Festival, where it was performed with live Japanese dubbing. Alongside producing animated stories, Aniwayang Studio shares insights into its creative process, takes part in events and offers licensing opportunities. Its merchandise includes books, an Indonesian-English Desa Timun comic, character paper puppets, leather puppets, children’s T-shirts, sticker sets and a Flazz card. Selected products are available through Shopee and Tokopedia. Through its productions and related activities, the studio connects contemporary animation with traditional Indonesian visual storytelling for audiences in Indonesia and abroad.
