## Description

The Australian Anti-Bases Campaign Coalition (AABCC) is an Australian coalition established in 1987, bringing together a broad range of groups and individuals who advocate the removal of nuclear war-fighting and associated intelligence facilities and activities from Australia. Its campaign focuses on sites including Pine Gap, North West Cape and Smithfield, as well as foreign activities linked to the Watsonia intelligence network at Carbarlah, Pearce and Shoal Bay.

The coalition argues that these facilities affect Australia’s sovereignty and independence, disregard Indigenous peoples’ rights and aspirations, and connect the country to US military and nuclear strategies. It also raises concerns about their role in surveillance, regional militarisation, the arms race and the risk of nuclear conflict. AABCC views closing the bases as a contribution to global disarmament and peace.

The organisation promotes coordinated campaigning for the removal of these facilities. Its website shares information and advocacy material on related issues, including AUKUS, nuclear-powered submarines, military spending, a nuclear-free world, the US-Australia military alliance and US bases in Australia.
