## Description

The Antigonish Highland Society, established in 1861, is a community organization dedicated to preserving the language, music, and traditions of the Highland Scot. This society, which celebrated St. Andrew’s Day in its founding year, has since held over 150 Highland Games while supporting various Gaelic traditions and events. Their offerings include Highland dance, Scottish heavy events, piping and drumming, fiddle music, step-dancing, athletics, and ancient Scottish heavy events. The society's commitment to keeping alive or creating numerous traditions and events has helped define the character of Antigonish town and county. The society also hosts the longest running Highland Games in North America and offers a variety of merchandise for those interested in commemorating this historic and culturally-rich community event. Join them for their 159th Highland Games from July 7-14, 2024, for an unforgettable experience filled with entertainment, cultural events, and more! Follow them on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube for the latest updates.
