## Description

Richard Nicholson of Chester is a specialist dealer in original antique maps, charts, town plans, prints, books and atlases. Established in 1961, the business draws on more than 60 years of experience buying and selling historical cartography, with a particular focus on the British Isles and a broad selection of maps from around the world.

Its collection includes British county maps dating from 1580 to 1900, maps of Scotland, Ireland and Wales, road maps, and works covering regions such as Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Customers can browse recently added items, old books and atlases, and reference titles. The dealer also offers information to help people learn about mapmakers, date maps and begin or develop a collection.

Richard Nicholson provides guidance to collectors seeking particular maps and welcomes enquiries. Items are clearly priced, and purchases come with a guarantee label recording details such as the map’s title, cartographer and publication date. The business also offers gift cards and discusses postage for UK and overseas orders.
