## Description

AOCOR, the Association of Ostomates of Córdoba, is a community organization in Córdoba, Spain, supporting people living with an ostomy and their families. It offers a welcoming space to share experiences, build friendships and find guidance for adapting to life after surgery. Through its patient school, the association provides information and education about ostomies, while its human-centered approach encourages members to connect with experienced ostomy nurses and better understand available hospital consultations.

AOCOR also organizes workshops, social gatherings, cultural and tourism activities, and events that promote wellbeing and inclusion. Its news, blog, patient stories and activity reports share practical advice and community experiences. The association advocates for more accessible facilities, including ostomy-friendly bathrooms in institutions, hospitals and large public spaces, and works to increase public understanding and visibility of ostomy-related needs. People can become members, seek support, share concerns or propose projects for collaboration. AOCOR’s work is grounded in peer support, education and the belief that life with an ostomy can be fulfilling and active.
