## Description

The Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR) is a member-based academic association dedicated to promoting critical, scholarly research on the Internet across disciplines and academic boundaries. It brings together researchers, students, and other members of the Internet research community through conferences, symposia, lectures, mailing lists, and other opportunities for connection and exchange. AoIR’s annual conference is a central part of its activities, alongside events such as the Flashpoint Symposium and AoIR Lecture Series. The association also supports research and professional development through awards, including the Nancy Baym Annual Book Award, the Annual Dissertation Award, and the Best Student Paper Award, as well as travel grants. For researchers, students, and others studying the Internet, AoIR offers guidance on ethical and professional research practices, including its Risky Research Guide. Its publications and resources include conference papers, special issues, and an archive of past conferences, symposia, and doctoral colloquia. AoIR also provides membership, community mailing lists, opportunities to contribute to its archive, and merchandise, while welcoming donations to support its work.
