## Description

The Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP4) is a public pension fund established in 1974 to manage part of Sweden’s national pension assets. Its mandate is to support the pension system and contribute to financial security for current and future pensioners through long-term investment returns. AP4 manages capital across global markets, combining investment management with responsible investment and active ownership.

The fund’s work is guided by an investment philosophy, return objectives, portfolio and risk management, and a focus on sustainability. Its sustainability priorities include climate change and the transition to a lower-carbon economy, biodiversity, resource efficiency, waste, and corporate governance. AP4 also participates in the Council on Ethics of the Swedish National Pension Funds and publishes information about its holdings and investment approach.

AP4’s website provides annual and interim reports, financial disclosures, news, press releases, procurement information, and details about its organisation and careers. As of June 30, 2026, the fund reported SEK 885.5 billion in assets, a SEK 56.1 billion result, and a 6.8 percent return after costs for the first half of the year.
