Cirrhosis is mainly caused by hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), alcohol consumption, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

The APAC Liver Disease Alliance aims to create a credible platform for policy discussions and campaigns on liver diseases, lead coordinated advocacy activities, demonstrate the urgency and true burden of liver diseases, and generate evidence to support policy-making and implementation. They also promote knowledge, research, and international collaboration.
