## Description

APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) is a reputable organization founded in 1995 by John Fisher in the UK. They offer a guarantee of quality when it comes to choosing a puppy and dog training class. The association assesses all members based on strict criteria to ensure they have the necessary skills to teach dog training. Members are required to keep their education up-to-date and adhere to a Code of Practice. The APDT is proud to use gentle, motivational methods that are kind, fair, and effective. They believe in positive training techniques and do not endorse the use of harsh methods. Veterinary personnel can confidently refer clients to APDT members as they carry their own insurance, ensuring accountability and protection for owners. It's important to note that APDT members may offer additional services beyond dog training. However, the association does not assess these services. For those looking for a local trainer, the APDT website provides a list of verified trainers in each area. The APDT is also a member of ABTC (Animal and Behaviour Training Council) and upholds comprehensive standards for practitioners.
