## Description

APECOM, the Portuguese Association of Advisory Companies in Communication and Public Relations, is a business association founded in 1989 to represent Portugal’s communication and public relations consulting sector. It brings together 33 companies, which account for more than 60% of the sector’s turnover and employment, according to research covering 121 companies. APECOM works to encourage the exchange of ideas and knowledge, strengthen the standing of its members and their work, and support the sector’s development in Portugal and abroad. Its activities include member services, training, professional resources, and partnerships. The association also promotes responsible practice through strict ethical codes that guide professionals at member companies, alongside information on industry standards and international affiliations. APECOM provides a Public Affairs Code of Conduct for the representation of legitimate interests and invites eligible companies to join. Through its initiatives, resources, and network, APECOM serves as a meeting point for communication professionals and consulting firms, helping advance knowledge, reputation, and ethical practice across the industry.
