## Description

For more than ten years, its worldwide community has worked to create powerful, affordable tools that give filmmakers and developers greater control over their creative processes. Its flagship effort is the AXIOM project, including the AXIOM Beta professional digital cinema camera and related software and development tools. Built around Linux, AXIOM combines open hardware with software that supports image processing and camera development; Magic Lantern has contributed colour science and raw processing since partnering with the Association in 2014.

The project’s purpose extends beyond making camera equipment. apertus° makes associated knowledge publicly available and invites people to contribute to its hardware, software, documentation, testing, and development. Software is released under the GNU General Public License version 3, documentation under Creative Commons licensing, and hardware under the CERN Open Hardware Licence. The community also provides resources such as a wiki, technical guides, mailing lists, and live chat, and welcomes participation, contributions, and donations.
