# AGD Ba-Bt-Ta Aps - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `apgd.it` ## Description AGD Bari-BAT-Taranto is a volunteer association supporting children and young people with type 1 diabetes and their families across the Bari, BAT and Taranto areas of Puglia. Founded in 1978 by parents of children with diabetes, it has spent more than 40 years promoting wellbeing, social inclusion, appropriate healthcare and the rights of people living with the condition. The association offers families a welcoming community where they can share experiences, find information and feel less alone in managing daily challenges. Its activities include welcoming families at diagnosis, supporting hospital services, organizing educational camps and days at farms, and marking World Diabetes Day. AGD Bari-BAT-Taranto also provides information about diabetes at school, including guidance on administering medication during school hours, and advocates for families with institutions. The organization reports more than 250 members and 50 volunteers. People can support its work by becoming members or volunteers, or by donating.
