## Description

Aphasia Community Center, Inc. (ACC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with aphasia and their co-survivors to communicate effectively and live vibrant, independent lives. Founded in 2018 in Sarasota, Florida, ACC was born from the vision of local families affected by aphasia, building on community efforts that began with the Suncoast Aphasia Support Group in 2007.

ACC offers a range of supportive programs designed to enhance skills in writing, reading, spoken language, and math through engaging group activities. The center’s trained volunteers, which include peers with aphasia and professionals like speech-language pathologists, utilize aphasia-friendly resources and techniques to facilitate learning.

In addition to its programs, the organization actively promotes aphasia awareness and education through outreach initiatives, engaging local businesses and the community. With a focus on improving the quality of life for those affected by aphasia, ACC serves as a vital hub for resources, connection, and support in the Sarasota region.
