## Description

APiCS Online, the Atlas of Pidgin and Creole Language Structures, serves as an essential resource for the study and comparison of pidgin and creole languages. Established in collaboration with 88 language experts, this comprehensive online atlas encompasses structural features of 76 different languages, including syntax, semantics, morphology, lexicon, and phonology. Through a unique consortium approach, researchers have provided in-depth data and analyses that contribute to a richer understanding of contact languages, their origins, and their framework.

The Atlas is supplemented by a three-volume Survey of Pidgin and Creole Languages, which presents contributions from the same team, focusing on detailed examination and illustrative examples of these language structures. With over 130 world maps illustrating various linguistic features, APiCS Online promotes global comparative linguistic research, providing vital insights into the interconnectedness of languages shaped by diverse cultural influences. Funded and hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, APiCS Online represents a significant achievement in the field of language studies.
