## Description

APORTH, the Portuguese Association of Holistic Therapists, is a nonprofit organization based in Leiria, Portugal. It promotes, supports and advances holistic therapies, including recognized non-conventional practices and complementary approaches to wellbeing. The association brings together therapists and works to strengthen professional standards, encourage innovation and build connections between practitioners and the wider community.

APORTH supports its members through continuing education, professional development resources, courses, workshops and training events. It also offers opportunities for networking and collaboration, access to specialist materials and publications, and participation in projects exploring new therapeutic approaches. To help build public confidence, the association revalidates members’ certificates and assesses their technical skills through interviews. Its activities also include research into outcomes for unregulated therapies, community wellbeing initiatives and representation of members’ professional interests with national and international institutions. APORTH aims to support therapists’ work and career development while fostering responsible practice and cooperation across the holistic therapy field. Its membership is open to individuals regardless of nationality, sex or religion, subject to the association’s rules.
