## Description

The Portuguese Association for Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Counselling (APPCPC) is a professional association founded in 1998 to develop and promote the person-centred approach inspired by Carl Rogers. Its members come from varied fields, including psychology, medicine, education, social work, nursing and theology. The association advances client-centred, or Rogerian, therapy and the broader application of person-centred principles across human relationships and professional practice.

APPCPC offers training, supervision and opportunities for research, with an emphasis on experiential learning and personal and professional development. Its activities include workshops and encounter groups, notably an annual personal development workshop focused on self-awareness, communication and relational growth. The association also provides educational resources, including videos, bibliographies, useful links and photographs, and publishes A Pessoa Como Centro, a journal dedicated to Rogerian studies, client-centred therapy and counselling.

APPCPC is a founding and institutional member of international and European person-centred psychotherapy and counselling networks, and a member of the European Association for Counselling.
