## Description

Aquitaine Historique is an association dedicated to sharing knowledge of the cultural heritage of Nouvelle-Aquitaine and supporting its study, preservation, and appreciation. Its interests span archaeology and history as well as literature, art, science, and industry, offering a broad perspective on the region’s past and cultural life.

The association brings these subjects to the public through conferences, outings, colloquia, and publications. Its programme includes talks on topics such as prehistory and Bordeaux’s historic Palais de l’Ombrière, alongside excursions exploring local medieval heritage and the history of places including Bègles. Aquitaine Historique also publishes the journal Aquitaine historique, as well as special issues and books, and makes earlier journal editions available. Its latest highlighted issue, number 165, features the Napoleonic redoubts of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.

Visitors can find information about upcoming and past activities, the association’s organisation and statutes, and how to join. Based in Villenave-d’Ornon, Aquitaine Historique provides a platform for people interested in learning about and helping safeguard the diverse heritage of the region.
