## Description

The Arabic Design Archive (ADA) is a pioneering non-profit initiative aimed at preserving and promoting knowledge about Arabic design history. Established by Egyptian designer Moe Elhossieny in 2020, ADA addresses the lack of accessible historical resources on Arab design by collecting, digitizing, and exhibiting a rich variety of graphic design materials, including book cover designs from the late 20th century. The archive is driven by a commitment to community engagement and employs a decentralized methodology that invites contributions from designers and researchers across the Arab world.

With a growing team based in cities such as Cairo, Beirut, Jerusalem, Casablanca, and Vancouver, ADA has transitioned to encompass a broad spectrum of graphic design. The archive not only makes resources available for non-commercial use but also ensures transparency regarding the rights and provenance of its materials. Emphasizing a collaborative approach to knowledge production, ADA stands as a vital platform that connects the past and present of Arabic design, fostering a deeper appreciation for its cultural significance.
