## Description

The Agriculture Research Centre (ARC), based at Coleg Sir Gar’s Gelli Aur Campus, supports the development of Welsh agriculture through applied research, technology transfer and specialist advice. It is described as the only applied agricultural research centre in Wales with dedicated staff focused on outcomes relevant to practical farming systems. ARC’s work aims to help farms become more sustainable and meet environmental requirements, while promoting circular-economy approaches.

The centre’s activities include research and initiatives addressing nutrient management, pollution, water quality, air quality, precision farming and reductions in nutrient loss. Its projects and resources include the Tywi Farm Nutrient Partnership, Tywydd Tywi Weather and Animal Health and Welfare Wales. The website also features information on China Grass and Gwaredu BVD, alongside farming guidance and technical updates.

ARC connects research with practical agricultural needs by sharing information, supporting technology adoption and providing specialist guidance. Its work brings together partners and farming-sector stakeholders to explore ways of improving efficiency and environmental performance.
