## Description

ArchéoJuraSites is a recognized non-profit association established in 1980, dedicated to the archaeology, history, and heritage of the Jura region, particularly between the Ain, Lemme, and Saine rivers. Originally named the Association Lemme Et Saine d'Intérêt Archéologique, it was renamed in 2007 to reflect its broader mission. With a growing membership of around 700, the organization aims to study, preserve, and promote the archaeological and historical wealth of its territory, building upon the extensive research of local scholars like André Berthier.

The association provides a variety of services, including guided tours, lectures, and the publication of findings related to Gallo-Roman heritage and medieval architecture, notably the Champs-des-Mottes medieval castle in Chaux-des-Crotenay. ArchéoJuraSites leverages archaeological discoveries, including LiDAR studies, to reveal the continuous occupation of the area from prehistoric to medieval times. Through its initiatives, the association fosters a deeper appreciation of the region’s cultural heritage among locals and visitors alike.
