## Description

The Associazione Archeologica della Valdelsa Fiorentina (AAVF) is a volunteer association dedicated to archaeology in the Valdelsa Fiorentina area of Tuscany. Registered in the Tuscan regional volunteer register in 2002, it is based in Gambassi Terme and also lists locations in Castelfiorentino and Montaione. The association’s activities focus on local archaeological research and public engagement, helping people discover the area’s historical heritage. Its work includes archaeological excavations, such as those at Bellafonte and the Castle of Catignano, and events that bring archaeological topics to a wider audience. Past initiatives featured the excavation at Sant’Antonio, the “Nights of Archaeology” program, and the inauguration of a permanent exhibition on glass. Through its activities and events, AAVF offers opportunities to learn about archaeological sites, finds, and heritage in the region. The association also invites public support through donations, including Italy’s five-per-thousand tax allocation. Visitors can use its website to find information about the organization, its activities, events, and useful links, or contact it by email.
