## Description

Archivio di Studi Adriatici (ASA) is an open-source digital portal dedicated to providing unrestricted access to a rich repository of books, documents, and scientific collections related to marine sciences. Located in Venice, under the Institute of Marine Sciences (ISMAR-CNR), ASA serves as an invaluable resource for researchers and enthusiasts alike. 

Among its offerings, the Algarium Veneticum houses an extensive algal herbarium, originally established between 1941 and 1950, and continues to expand with new specimens for the study of marine plant biodiversity and transitional environments. The Historical Library of Adriatic Studies preserves a diverse collection of scientific and humanistic texts related to Venice and the Adriatic region, spanning from the Renaissance to 2000. 

Additionally, the Historical Cartography section features ancient maps and nautical charts, available for high-resolution viewing and connected to the CIGnO geoportal. ASA's dedicated collections of marine invertebrates also play a crucial role in biodiversity and subsidence research in the Venetian Lagoon, showcasing specimens from various Mediterranean regions.
