## Description

ArcTern Ventures is a venture capital firm focused on backing mission-driven founders developing solutions to climate change and industrial emissions. Its investment approach centers on “sustainable intelligence”: decarbonizing artificial intelligence and applying its capabilities to accelerate the decarbonization of industry. The firm describes its strategy through three pillars: clean energy, or “clean electrons,” to meet the energy needs of civilization and AI; clean compute, or “clean bits,” to improve efficiency across the computing stack; and clean industry, or “clean atoms,” where AI can help identify solutions for emissions-intensive sectors.

ArcTern provides early-stage investment and works in partnership with entrepreneurs to help them grow from startup to broader impact. The firm also emphasizes climate value alongside financial returns, and supports environmental impact transparency and accountability among companies. Its team includes investors and professionals focused on climate impact and investor relations. ArcTern Ventures has offices in Toronto, San Francisco, and Oslo, and shares information about its portfolio, sectors, team, and perspectives through its website and newsletter.
