## Description

ARDAC (Aboriginal Renal Disease Awareness Challenge) is a pioneering initiative focused on improving kidney health among Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities in New South Wales, Australia. This comprehensive research project aims to identify and understand the prevalence of chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular risk factors, starting from childhood and extending into adulthood. 

The ARDAC program includes several phases of research, from analyzing traditional risk factors among children to evaluating healthcare utilization as participants grow into adults. Collaborating with Aboriginal community-controlled health services, ARDAC conducts kidney health screenings and promotes educational resources related to dialysis and renal transplant. 

By engaging with the communities directly and co-designing programs, ARDAC seeks to address the social determinants of health while respecting Aboriginal cultures and knowledge. Its unique data linkage project creates the largest dataset regarding chronic disease emergence among First Nations Peoples globally, paving the way for better prevention and management strategies for kidney health and chronic diseases in the future.
