The American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) is a professional association serving railway engineering personnel and supporting the advancement of railroad engineering. Formed in 1997 through the merger of three engineering associations, AREMA provides opportunities for industry professionals to share knowledge, develop expertise, and contribute to recommended practices for railway infrastructure.

Its resources include the Manual for Railway Engineering, a reference covering principles, data, specifications, plans, and economics related to engineering, design, and construction.
