## Description

The Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the preservation and study of sound recordings in all formats and across all periods and genres. It connects private collectors, researchers, archivists, and audio professionals through educational resources, professional programs, and a community for sharing knowledge. ARSC offers membership and volunteer opportunities, supports local chapters, and convenes an annual conference and workshop. Its grants programs provide research and conference support, while awards recognize achievement in recorded-sound scholarship and service. The association also publishes the ARSC Journal and Newsletter, along with conference recordings, podcasts, and educational webinars. Resources include the ARSC Guide to Audio Preservation, an audio preservation directory, cataloging information, and guidance on copyright and fair use. Through its publications, events, grants, and professional networks, ARSC helps advance the responsible care and study of recorded audio and the diverse collections, histories, and practices associated with it.
