## Description

Artichoke is a UK arts charity that works with artists to create ambitious public artworks and events. Its projects take place in cities, the countryside and along coastlines, transforming public spaces and inviting people to experience art in new ways. The organisation aims to make extraordinary arts experiences accessible to everyone, ignite imaginations and bring communities together.

Artichoke produces large-scale outdoor commissions and participatory programmes, including the Lumiere festivals, which have brought light art to Durham and London, as well as projects such as The Sultan’s Elephant, One & Other, HERD and The Gallery. Its work spans visual art, sound and music, theatre, light art, education and community participation. The charity also develops initiatives such as literacy programmes inspired by The BFG and shares recommendations for cultural events.

Based at Toynbee Studios in London, Artichoke relies on support from individuals and organisations to deliver its events. It invites audiences, artists, schools, education providers, sponsors and funders to take part, collaborate or contribute.
