## Description

Art League Houston (ALH) is a nonprofit arts organization founded in 1948 and incorporated in 1953. Based in Houston, Texas, it works to connect and enrich the community through contemporary visual art, cultivating awareness, appreciation, and access through opportunities to see, make, and discuss art.

ALH presents exhibitions, including public art and guided tours, and operates the Art League School, which offers classes and workshops. Its programs also include the annual Texas Artist of the Year initiative, in-school artist residencies through ArtBound!, Skillshare, Healing Arts, and a summer intensive for teens. Events, awards, and community gatherings further support its cultural programming.

The organization also offers ways to participate and contribute, including membership, volunteering and other support opportunities. Through its exhibitions, education, outreach, and events, ALH creates accessible, creative experiences that bring people together around contemporary visual art.
