## Description

Art World Database (AWDB) is an online initiative focused on making information about Southeast Asian contemporary art accessible in one place. Its directory connects audiences with artists and the wider network supporting the region’s art scene, including organisations, galleries, museums, educational institutions, art spaces, residencies, prizes, fairs, and biennials. Visitors can explore listings spanning countries across Southeast Asia, alongside international institutions and events relevant to the region.

AWDB also shares editorial and reference content to help readers engage with contemporary art. Its website features event highlights, exhibitions, artist-related coverage, and a glossary explaining art terms and concepts. Featured listings showcase exhibitions and events, with details such as dates, venues, and descriptions where available. The platform’s breadth makes it a useful starting point for discovering artists, organisations, opportunities, and cultural activity across the region. By bringing these resources together, AWDB aims to serve as a go-to database for information on Southeast Asian contemporary art and the communities, institutions, and programmes that shape it.
