## Description

Autism Resources of Utah County Council (ARUCC) is a community council established in 2011 by parents, organizations, and agencies seeking to strengthen support for people with autism and their families across Utah County. Its members collaborate to create integrated systems of support and treatment, improve connections among local services, and make referrals more seamless. The council’s approach is based on shared expertise and coordinated community efforts.

ARUCC brings its collective resources to the public through annual events, including the Uplifting Celebration for Autism in April at Utah Valley University and the Autism Friendly Family Carnival in June at Utah Autism Academy’s Clear Horizons location. It also sponsors training symposiums and parent dinners as resources for the community. In addition, the council hosts annual Community Autism Awards: the Hero for Autism Award recognizes sustained, long-term contributions, while the Michael Sproul Community Spirit Award celebrates current advocacy and service. ARUCC also shares autism information and encourages families concerned about a child’s development to speak with a doctor about screening.
