## Description

ARV De Ank is the Achterhoekse Rowing Association based in Doetinchem, Netherlands. The club welcomes beginners, experienced rowers and those seeking a sporting challenge, offering opportunities to row for recreation, fitness or competition, individually or as part of a crew. Members row on the Oude IJssel, a scenic river with reed beds and relatively little boat traffic, making it a pleasant setting for newcomers. Routes run from Doetinchem toward Laag Keppel, Hoog Keppel and Doesburg, or through the city toward Kemnade and the Pol weir near Gaanderen.

The association provides rowing instruction and courses, examinations, scheduled crew rowing and open rowing sessions. Its activities also include competitive rowing, club championships and touring trips. ARV De Ank promotes safety and offers information about sports medical examinations. The club hosts rowing events, including the Oude IJssel Race, and is scheduled to host the Paul Veenemans Prize in 2026, a multi-sport competition featuring running, skating, cycling and rowing. Its website shares club news, event calendars, rowing resources and membership information.
