American Beaches, represented by the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA), is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and enhancing the beautiful coastlines of the United States. ASBPA merges science and public policy to ensure the longevity and sustainability of our beaches. With a mission to provide science-based guidance to Congress, federal and state agencies, and local communities, ASBPA plays a crucial role in national coastal resilience challenges. American Beaches offers a range of services and resources for its members, including publications like the Shore & Beach Journal and Coastal Voice E-Newsletter, as well as the American Beach News Service. Members also gain access to the National Beach Nourishment Database and the Coastal Universities Guide. Through partnerships, committees, and awards programs, ASBPA recognizes and supports individuals and organizations that contribute to beach restoration, habitat preservation, storm protection, and recreation. ASBPA is at the forefront of promoting sustainable management practices and the protection of natural resources, as evidenced by their recognition of the first Blue Flags in the continental United States.
