## Description

Asciilands is a free, browser-based multiplayer sandbox game where players share a persistent world and shape it together. Designed as a world “drawn in text,” it invites players to survive, explore, gather resources, craft equipment, and build anything from a simple camp to a town or nation. The connected landscape includes forests, coasts, deserts, and mountains, with opportunities to chop trees, mine ore, fish, and harvest plants. Players can smelt materials, forge custom tools and weapons, and discover arcane inscriptions for casting spells.

Asciilands supports solo play as well as collaboration, and structures remain in the shared world for others to discover. The game is free to play, with optional donations that currently support server hosting and may help fund future commissioned artwork. Players can continue progress as guests or log in with Discord to access features such as friends, parties, and towns across devices. Currently, the game supports desktop and laptop browsers and is in open beta and active development.
